So, we’ve been getting ready for Mom’s visit as well. Sam decided she didn’t want to be a first-time mom without her mom and her Nana here too. Did I mention that my mom is coming to spend 3 months with us too? In our family, she is fondly referred to as the “baby whisperer” and was like a second parent to Sam as she was growing up. We’re putting meals together for the freezer, painting, decorating, setting up new furniture – all those kinds of things because we are a mere 5 weeks from Sam’s due date. So, yes I’m there helping out with a lot of the preparations. My daughter and her husband are living up in the main part of the house. It’s not quite an apartment yet but we’ll talk about that another time).
I’m living in the basement apartment of the house I own (I call it an apartment. And I say “we” because no, it’s not me having the baby, but it is going to be my first grandchild. I don’t know if you realize this or not because I’ve been talking about it a lot more on social media, but we are officially in “getting ready for baby mode”. It makes a pretty piece of art to hang in the nursery and a great reminder of just how important that wee one is to all of us. Now, for her little one, we’ve got this free printable that can be printed, cut out, and framed.
I used to sing this to my daughter when she was little and it just summed up our relationship so well.
